Greenultimate brings solar battery incentive to Moree and district

Oct 24, 2024

ELIGIBLE residents in Moree and surrounding areas can now take advantage of a State Government incentive offering up to $2400 towards the installation of solar battery systems.

The rebate program is part of the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) and will be rolled out from November 1, 2024.

It is designed to make solar batteries more accessible and affordable, and to help reduce peak demand on the power grid.

The initiative aims to assist households and businesses offset the cost of solar battery storage, and provide a more accessible way to maximize energy savings.

Greenultimate, a Clean Energy Council approved solar retailer, has been a leader in solar energy solutions and a top-10 company in the industry in New South Wales for the past two years.

National sales manager, Warnie Athauda, said Greenultimate has been operational since 2010 and serving the Moree community since 2017.

“Our mission is to promote sustainable energy, and many business owners and residents are unaware of the vast benefits associated with installing a solar battery system,” Mr Athauda said.

“Greenultimate’s offer comes at a crucial time when the feed-in tariff rates – currently at $0.05 to $0.07 per kWh – are at historically low levels.

“The new incentive aims to reduce reliance on the grid by enabling users to store excess energy produced during the day and use it at night, which is typically the period of higher electricity demand and cost,” he said.

Mr Athauda said Greenultimate was committed installing solar panels as well as delivering energy independence through advanced battery systems.

In addition to the State Government incentive, eligible customers may also benefit from participating in a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program, which offers potential earnings of $1 per kWh of discharge for managing battery power during peak times.

“This means customers not only save on energy bills but can also be financially rewarded for contributing to grid stability,” Mr Athauda said.

Moree has been a hub for Greenultimate’s operations, with the company responsible for more than 70 per cent of the town’s solar installations.

Greenultimate’s impressive portfolio includes commercial and public projects such as Moree Plains Shire Council-owned Artesian Aquatic Centre, Moree Services Club, Moree Public and Secondary Schools, and Pius X.

Greenultimate has also powered many local businesses, including Thomas Lee Motorcycles, Royal Hotel-Motel, South Moree Butchery, B&W Rural, BMC Partnership, Monckton Bearing Centre, Hardmans Windscreens and Outdoors, Truckline, Tyre Power, National AG, Gwydir Spray Shop, Grainland, Moree Hot Springs Pools and Units, Albert Motel, Econolodge Motel, Reado’s Meats, New Bo Wa Restaurant and the General Merchant building in Inverell.

“Our installations have also extended to local businesses, large farming operations and more than 700 residential homes in the area,” Mr Athauda said.

As the solar landscape evolves, Greenultimate remains at the forefront, he said.

The company offers cutting-edge technology and deep expertise in the field, with customers enjoying reduced energy bills while contributing to a more sustainable future.

“The incentive scheme arriving in November is set to significantly reduce the initial costs of solar battery systems, allowing more residents to harness the benefits of stored solar energy,” Mr Athauda said.

With Moree’s ongoing adoption of solar power, the new battery incentive marks a step toward a cleaner, more efficient energy future.

“We are incredibly proud to support Moree’s journey toward energy independence, and this battery incentive aligns with our vision of sustainable growth in regional areas,” Mr Athauda said.

Residents interested in taking advantage of the incentive or learning more about Greenultimate’s services are encouraged to secure their spot in the upcoming energy revolution.

“The opportunity to save is now, and with the state-backed incentive, there’s no better time to make the switch,” Mr Athauda said.
