The Local Small Commitments Allocation program will provide up to $400,000 in funding across the Northern Tablelands.
The LSCA program provides benefits to local communities through a range of events, services and programs, playground and park upgrades, and more.
This week we revealed Delungra’s Anzac Park will receive $88,000 to construct a skate park and accessible footpaths.
The Delungra community has been requesting a skate park for quite some time and thanks to this funding they will now get one.
I will be able to reveal more funding heading to the Northern Tablelands in coming weeks so keep an eye out for those announcements.
Show Season
The 147th Walcha Show was on Friday and Saturday and it was a fantastic event.
There was plenty on from the side shows, yard dog trials, stud cattle and more! Congratulations to the Walcha Show Society for a great show.
Next is Bingara Show this Saturday and Sunday.

Brendan Moylan shares a laugh at the 147th annual Walcha Show.
Moree Hospital update
The main works construction contract has been awarded to Hutchinson Builders. That means the next step in the development of Moree Hospital is finalising the design of the new acute services building before construction physically commences.
The building team will also meet with the project team and the Local Health District.
There will soon be drop-in sessions with departments to go over the design again. The clearing out of the Mahaffey building will also begin in preparation for the builders to establish their site compound.
There’s also consultation being undertaken to include Aboriginal language in the hospital’s signage.
It is great to see progress being made.
Parliament sittings
The March sittings for NSW Parliament began this week.
I delivered nine Questions on Notice on a range of issues from around the electorate.
I delivered nine Community Recognition Statements including on Guyra’s Costa Group, Moree’s Junior Cricket team, the Woolbrook community, Lily Grieve, Moree Public School P&C, BAM Disability Services, BackTrack Armidale and Darryl Brady.
I also delivered a Private Members Statement on harrisia cactus which is of concern in the northern end of my electorate, including in Boggabilla, North Star and Croppa Creek.
I have urged the Government to do more to control this noxious weed.
I spoke about the importance of ensuring our youth remain in our country communities and spoke in favour of the extension of 22C of the Bail Act.
This section restricts bail for serious repeat offenders. I am hoping that my private members’ bill on crime in our regional communities will be debated in next week’s sittings.

Hunter New England Health Bill submissions open
Submissions are now open for the inquiry into the Health Services Amendment (Splitting of the Hunter New England Health District) Bill 2025.
The proposed Bill aims to dissolve the current Hunter New England Local Health District to establish two new districts – Hunter Local Health District and the New England Northwest Local Health District.
I want to advocate better healthcare outcomes because the New England and Northwest regions are the ones who are crying out for better healthcare services.
The inquiry allows the public to have input into the future of healthcare within the Hunter and New England regions.
To make a submission, visit the inquiry webpage.
