BUILDING on the incredible success of last year’s inaugural Event Partnership Program, which saw the delivery of events such as Run the Plains and the Young Aggies Future Focus Forum, Moree Plains Shire Council is pleased to announce the 2025 Program is open for applications.
The Event Partnership Program, part of the Moree Plains Economic Development Strategy, this year offers $20,000 and is designed to boost the liveability and visitation of the shire, as well as inspire, engage and unite communities through local events.
Moree Plains Shire mayor said the Event Partnership Program aims to promote positive economic activity and contribute to the overall growth of the shire.
“It’s about bringing the community together and making a lasting impact that benefits everyone,” Cr Pearse said.
“If anyone has an inspiring idea for an event, I highly encourage them to apply and turn their vision into reality.”
The program is designed to support and expand a range of local events and event organisers can apply for a one-off maximum payment of up to $10,000.

Run the Plains participants (from left) Keira Legg, Kate McDonald, Bella Boland, Austin Legg, Will Smith, local running legend and race ambassador Ronny Clissold, Lachlan Bowhay, Ben Legg and Casey Smith.
Council has allocated $20,000 toward the program to help foster and promote local events in the region.
Interested individuals or organisations are encouraged to review the program guidelines and submit an application before the deadline on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 11:59pm.
