Dubbed the ‘wheat bowl of Australia’ for its rich agricultural industry, Moree on a Plate aims to promote the thriving boutique produce industries of the North West’s black soil plains.

At the forefront of the Paddock to Plate movement 21 years ago, the Moree on a Plate Food and Wine Festival’s evolution has been equally significant, and perfectly placed to meet Australian consumers’ growing shift to locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Today, it’s one of rural Australia’s most beloved food and wine festivals.

Organisers at last year’s Moree on a Plate. The committee is now preparing for the 2025 edition on May 10.
From the agricultural heartland of Moree in north-west New South Wales, Moree on a Plate is a genuine farmers’ market, attracting crowds in the thousands to experience the unique culture and produce of rural Australia.
Food writer and gourmet tour leader Roberta Muir will be a feature of the event, demonstrating a number of recipes using locally sourced ingredients.
Producers from across New South Wales and Queensland will showcase their fresh produce, niche offerings and delicious meals to satisfy the crowds, while local artisans will offer quality, beautifully-crafted giftware.
To be held on Saturday, May 10 from 10am to 4pm at Moree Racecourse, the festival is one the whole family can enjoy, with a dedicated Kids’ Korner keeping the youngest visitors busy.
With artists, musicians, dancers and vocalists also contributing to a vibrant atmosphere, Moree on a Plate is a rural event that offers a smorgasbord of food, wine and the arts.
A gold coin entry fee ensures it’s a day the whole community can enjoy.
With a variety of contemporary art gallery exhibition openings, a piano concert by globally acclaimed Simon Tedeschi, indigenous bush tucker tours, pecan and cotton farm tours all collaborating over the weekend to provide visitors with an authentic rural experience, visitors and locals are encouraged to come and discover why there’s more to Moree in May.
