MOREE picnic races are likely to host capacity 10-horse fields on Saturday after 91 nominations were received today for the six-race card.
The 1400m B&W Rural Boolooroo Cup received 23 entries from across New South Wales and southern Queensland, including last year’s winner Peak Road, now trained at Collarenebri by Kelly Smith, who has also nominated 2023 Talmoi Cup winner Ringside.
Also in the mix are Wayne Oakenfull’s stablemates Shut Eye and Stillwell, and Allande, Blackhill Kitty, Individualist and Procyon Miss from Connie Greig’s Dubbo yard.
The 950m RDO Equipment Moree Picnic Bracelet drew 18 nominations, including Gerety from the Inverell stables of Ridge Wilson, who won the feature sprint last year with Hiraishin.
The 1200m Graincorp Class 3 Handicap has 20 nominations and 12 runners have been nominated for the 1600m Kenway and Clark Class 2 Handicap.
The North West Events 950m Class B Handicap drew eight runners, with nominations extended until 11am Tuesday and the 950m Nutrien Ag Solutions Maiden Plate has attracted 11 nominations.
A maximum of 10 runners are permitted to start in each race, with four emergencies allocated.
Weights for the meeting are released late Tuesday, with acceptances declared at 9am on Thursday.

Bus service available
To ensure patrons get to the track safely, and on time, buses will run from the Albert Motel, Royal Hotel and Moree Golf Club from 11am to 2pm at half-hour intervals.
Return buses will begin at 5pm and finish at 11.30pm.

Picnic lunch
Patrons are encouraged to take along a picnic lunch to share with friends and family under the main marquee at the president’s luncheon.
The long-standing custom of bringing plates to share dates back to 1924, when Moree held its first picnic race meeting.
Everyone is invited to join president Alex Madden under the marquee and partake in this longstanding tradition.
Moree Lions Club barbecue will also be fired up, with delicious steak and sausage sandwiches available for purchase.
