FOUNDED nearly 200 years ago, The King’s School was established to educate and develop young men to lead with humility and a commitment to make an outstanding impact on society.
The expansive 320-acre campus in the heart of Sydney provides an ideal learning and living environment for boys in Years 7 to 12.
Under The King’s School philosophy of Academic Excellence and Character Development within a Christian Community, students are encouraged to pursue their full potential not only for personal achievement but for the greater good.
At the heart of The King’s School is a thriving boarding community.
For boarders, King’s is not simply accommodation, but it is a home where students from across Australia make lifelong friendships and grow under the guidance of experienced staff.
“The School’s extensive geographic footprint provides the perfect environment for our students to challenge their minds, bodies and souls,” says The King’s School Headmaster, Mr Tony George.
“Our boys are taught to strive for excellence for the sake of being excellent for others, and it is through this approach that Kingsmen grow to become Global Thought Leaders.”

A King’s education includes an environment where young men are encouraged to develop a healthy risk appetite, embrace challenge and adventure and be actively engaged in the School community.
Boarding life at The King’s School begins in Year 7 at the Gowan Brae boarding house, designed to provide a smooth transition into senior boarding life.
From Years 8 to 12, a vertical boarding mentor program brings students of different ages together, fostering leadership, mentorship and camaraderie between all.
King’s commitment to community is embedded in everything the School does.
Shared meals, evening study support and weekend programs connect students across all year levels, as well as on-site staff, creating a unique and vibrant residential culture.
Christian Community is central to a King’s education, with Christian values entrenched in every aspect of school life, encouraging students to grow not only in intellect but in heart and character.
At The King’s School, boys learn not only in the classroom, but they live their education through experiences that shape character and build lifelong values.
“There is so much to learn inside and outside of the classroom, and it is the unique educational recipe at King’s which teaches students to live out the School’s motto, fortiter et fideliter, meaning bravely and faithfully,” Mr George said.
