POLICE are investigating a fatal crash in north-western New South Wales, on the Elcombe Road between Gravesend and Bingara.
At about 3.50pm on Friday, June 20, emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle roll-over at the intersection of Elcombe Road and Royal Oak Road, Bangheet, approximately 90km east of Moree.
Officers from the New England Police District removed a 56-year-old male passenger from the vehicle – a silver coloured Ford Ranger utility – and commenced CPR along with NSW Ambulance paramedics.
However, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.
The 47-year-old female driver was treated by paramedics and air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Two other female passengers in the vehicle – aged 9 and 25 – were uninjured.
A crime scene was established that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with the occupants of a green coloured early model dual cab with a flat tray that was last seen travelling north on Elcombe Road towards Gravesend.
Police are urging anyone with information about the crash – or who may been in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Moree Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
