Ironman MX Series roars into Moree for a weekend of local triumph

Jul 1, 2025

LOCAL MX riders Max Anderson, Trent Loder, Jaxon Page and Jesse Moore led the laps for Moree, with impressive performances at the Ironman MX Series Round 4 at Boolooroo Raceway at the weekend.

Moree Motorcycle Club president Matt Anderson said the two-day event was a major success, with riders from across New South Wales and Queensland competing under perfect track and weather conditions – and Moree riders dominated many events.

“A fantastic crowd witnessed heavily contested racing across both days,” Anderson said.

“The event is one of the biggest on our club calendar and received strong local backing from sponsor Thomas Lee Motorcycles, which highlights deep community dedication to the sport.”

Rising star Max Anderson dominated. He convincingly won all three Junior Lites races and thrilled the hometown crowd with his incredible talent – nurtured at the Boolooroo Raceway north of Moree.

Trent Loder epitomised dedication and versatility, and utilised exceptional skill and impressive fitness across challenging conditions.

Loder secured first place in the Over-30s as well as a strong second in MX1 A-grade, with Jesse Moore also taking second in the fiercely-contested Over-30s.

Jaxon Page put in an outstanding performance, clinching first in the MX2 class.

Cameron Loder, fresh from winning the Finke Class 1 for 251cc and above last month, secured third place in the MX2 Clubman and MX1 categories.

In the women’s class, local rider Julie Denyer claimed a commendable third and another local legend, Tyler Johnson, made his mark.

Johnson secured a strong fourth spot in the highly-competitive MX1 category.

The Thomas family added significantly to the local success as well.

Father Chris Thomas, from event sponsor Thomas Lee Motorcycles, rode strongly, claiming first in the Over-40s Vets category.

Another local, Neil Loder, secured an impressive second in the same class.

Chris’s son, Kenji, battled for a commendable sixth in the 13-15 Junior Lites, while his brother, Chuck claimed first in the 15-17 Junior Lites, with the brothers displaying their impressive generational talent.

Feature race, the All Powers Dash for Cash, was taken out by Jye Roberts from the Hunter Valley.

Club president Matt Anderson said the Dash for Cash showcased top talent from outside the immediate region.

“Trent Loder and Jaxon Page both secured strong third-place finishes in this hotly contested feature race,” Anderson said.

He said the diverse weekend of action spanned all categories, including Junior Lites, MX1, MX2 and 85cc.

Anderson, who with son Max, also trains, coaches and nurtures junior riders through the club’s innovative beginner program.

The initiative has secured the club’s foundation, as well as the future of motocross in Moree.

“The club’s future looks bright, with strong attendance from local mini kids – nippers – in the demo class at the weekend,” Anderson said.

“The Ironman MX Series remains a calendar highlight, and our Moree club was thrilled to host such a successful and action-packed event.

“Congratulations to all riders, and huge thanks to the Moree Motorcycle Club, its volunteers, and marshals for a truly ripper weekend,” he said.
