MOREE Plains Shire Council has announced three local events will receive funding boosts from the Event Partnership Fund for the 2024-25 financial year.

The events will share $20,000 to help bring some amazing experiences to the Moree Plains.

Moree Plains Shire mayor Susannah Pearse said the Event Partnership Fund supports new and growing events that invite visitors to the shire and spark positive economic activity.

“It’s inspiring to see the passion and dedication of our event organisers and committees who make Moree Plains a wonderful place to live, visit, and play,” Cr Pearse said.

Recipients this year are Australian Custom Harvesters’ HarvestFest 2025 Field Day, Moree on a Plate 2026 Festival and Tarrawingee Farm’s Un Verre Au Coin Du Feu Long Lunch.

HarvestFest will receive $10,000, with $5000 each awarded to Moree on a Plate 2026 and Un Verre Au Coin Du Feu Long Lunch.

HarvestFest 2025 is a two-day industry event hosted by Australian Custom Harvesters on August 5-6, 2025 at Moree Showground.

With machinery walk-arounds, expert panels, supplier exhibits and relaxed social events, HarvestFest will provide a valuable opportunity to connect, learn about the latest technologies and developments and strengthen relationships across the sector.

Moree on a Plate 2026 is a food, wine and arts festival featuring more than 50 producers from across the region and beyond.

The festival includes a dedicated Kids’ Korner, local entertainment throughout the day as well as a celebrity chef providing interactive and educational cooking demonstrations.

The 2026 Event will be held on May 9, 2026.

Un Verre au Coin du Feu is a long lunch-style event on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Hosted at local venue Tarrawingee Farm, the event is designed to showcase the best of Moree and the opportunity our region has to offer.

The menu has been selected to showcase and highlight the best local produce from Moree and district.

The experience will bring guests together for an outdoor feast, celebrating Moree’s vibrant food scene.

Past recipients of the Event Partnership Fund include Pally Bush Mega Markets, Run the Plains and Moree Musos’ Night.

The Event Partnership Fund is designed to provide partnership funding of up to $10,000 to support a range of local events.

These events have the primary aim of enhancing the amenity, wellbeing and economic vibrancy of the Moree Plains Shire.

Moree Plains Shire Council thanks all individuals and organisations who applied for the program and encourages event organisers with an idea to bring something new to our Shire or expand an existing event to apply in the 2025-26 financial year.

Council will advertise when the next round of funding will be available.
