It is great to see BackTrack’s Night Crew program receive $120,000 in funding from the NSW Government for it to be continued.
The program sees youth workers on Armidale streets between 8pm and 7am three nights per week to engage young people at risk.
The trial earlier in the year was hugely successful with a 75 per cent reduction in break-ins and reported stolen vehicles during that time.
This was a fantastic result for Armidale and it made sense to approach the NSW Government again for more funding to continue this homegrown, commonsense initiative.
Congratulations to everyone involved in getting this program off the ground and for the success it has had.
Funding for Uralla Arts Society
The Uralla Arts Society received $10,839 in funding from the Community Building Partnership program to purchase sound equipment to use at various events.
It was fantastic to deliver this grant to the society’s volunteers who run numerous events including music, plays, dance and vibrant displays. It is an entirely volunteer run group and the entire community will benefit.
Good luck HSC students
I would like to wish good luck to all students who are about to commence their HSC exams.
There’s not long to go before you begin your next chapter and I am wishing you every success.
To the parents and family members of HSC students, well done to you. It is a tough period and I am sure all students appreciate your support.
