THE new Quirindi Aquatic Centre is nearing completion, with Liverpool Plains Shire Council confirming the facility will open from Saturday, November 22, in time for the summer season.
Mayor Ken Cudmore said the facility, which has been in development for several years, is scheduled to be handed over to Council by Beau Corp Projects once it has achieved practical completion.
The public will be welcomed for the first time from Saturday, November 22.
“The Quirindi Aquatic Centre is one of the most significant infrastructure projects delivered by Liverpool Plains Shire Council in recent years,” Cr Cudmore said.
“It is the result of several years of planning and community consultation to designing a quality facility that will serve our region’s needs well into the future.

Quirindi Aquatic Centre is nearing completion, with Liverpool Plains Shire Council confirming the facility will open next month, in time for the summer season.
“We are incredibly grateful for the patience and support of our community as Beau Corp Projects has worked to complete this project, and we’re very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve,” he said.
Council’s general manager, Cian Middleton, said while most of the Quirindi Aquatic Centre is completed, landscaping works will be undertaken over the coming weeks to improve accessibility.
“As part of these works, three mature conifer trees need to be removed from outside the entry to undertake the landscaping and accommodate adjustments to the kerb and gutter to allow for access from disabled parking spaces to the footpath and improve the overall accessibility of the entry,” Mr Middleton said
“In line with independent arborist advice and the technical findings from a comprehensive assessment, removal of the trees is essential to improving accessibility and preventing further damage from root activity on the footpath.”
Landscaping works will commence today and take approximately two weeks to complete.
All works will be completed prior to the opening of the Quirindi Aquatic Centre.
