Wee Waa: Free community workshop to strengthen regional wellbeing

Nov 8, 2025

ARTS North West and Hey Mate invite the Wee Waa community to come together for a free Creative Resilience Wellbeing Workshop on Wednesday, November 12.

The workshop will run from 10am to 2pm at the Wee Waa Community Arts and Cultural Centre.

This interactive workshop will help strengthen community recovery and resilience following natural disasters by equipping participants with practical tools and creative strategies to support mental health, financial wellbeing and disaster preparedness.

Arts North West’s Miranda Heckenberg said participants will gain valuable insights from experienced facilitators and receive printed and digital toolkits filled with resources to support long-term wellbeing and recovery.

“Creative resilience is about using creativity and connection to adapt and thrive through change,” Ms Heckenberg said.

Aimee Davies from Hey Mate will speak at a free Creative Resilience Wellbeing Workshop in Wee Waa.

“By combining practical wellbeing strategies with community connection, we can help individuals and towns recover stronger together.”

The workshop also provides a vital space for connection and peer support, helping to reduce isolation and strengthen regional networks.

Founder of Hey Mate, Aimee Davies, said everyone is welcome, including artists, business owners, first responders, families and community members.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Arts North West to support creative communities in their recovery journeys,” Ms Davies said.

“These workshops blend practical wellbeing tools with creative connection, helping people strengthen resilience together.”
