TENNIS clinics, movie screenings and cooking classes are some of the children’s activities scheduled across Moree Plains Shire during the school holidays.
Moree Plains Shire Council has secured funding through the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, Office for Youth, holiday break summer program and will deliver a range of fun and engaging activities for children of all ages during January.

The holiday break program provides access to a raft of events during the school holidays, and offers free activities covering a variety of interests, including sports, science and the arts.
On of the aims of the program is for young people to develop skills, connect with others and explore new ideas.
Events and activities will be held at several locations in Moree, including the Community library, Ashley Hall and Pallamallawa Hall, as well as centres at Boggabilla and Mungindi.
Activities delivered across Moree Plains Shire include tennis clinics, movie screenings, craft and abstract art activities, water play obstacles, cooking classes, board games, pool parties, shirt design and decorating, and a skateboard workshop.

Movies screenings throughout the month at Moree Community Library include Smurfs on Tuesday, January 6 and Farmageddon on Tuesday, January 27. Both movies will screen at 2pm with registration required.
A pool party and lawn games will be held at Mungindi Pool at 10am this Wednesday, January 7 and again on Wednesday, January 28.
The January 28 pool party will be followed by craft at RTC from 1pm.
On Thursday, January 8 from 10am, fun activities will be held at Moree PCYC.
At 10am on Tuesday, January 13 a fun day with water play obstacles will be held at Jellicoe Park from 10am until 1pm.
Moree Community Library will have a decorate-your-own-shirt morning from 10am on Monday, January 12, with shirts provided.
On Friday, January 23 from 10am, Ashely Hall will host a screening of Smurfs as well as water play obstacles and craft activities.
A fun day with water play obstacles will also be held in Boggabilla between 10am and 1pm on Tuesday, January 20.
Cooking classes will be held at the Jolly Swagman Hotel in Mungindi on Wednesday, January 21 between 10am and 1pm and again the following day at Moree Community Library between 10am and 1pm.
Tennis clinics will be held at Mungindi Tennis Courts at 8.30am on Wednesday, January 14 and again at Moree Tennis Courts the following day from 8.30am. Registration is required for both sessions.
From 10.30am on Thursday, January 29 at Moree Community Library, children can participate in two hours of abstract art.
The skateboard workshop will be held at Moree Skate Park between 11am and 2pm on Friday, January 30

Children are remined to bring along a water bottle, hat and appropriate footwear. Sunscreen will be provided.
