A teenage boy will face court today charged with allegedly possessing extremist material following an investigation in Moree.
In December, 2025, officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation after receiving information a teenager was allegedly accessing extremist material online.
On Friday, March 27, NSW Police officers, including officers from the Moree Crime Prevention Unit, General Duties, and Criminal Investigation Unit, executed a commonwealth warrant at a home in Moree. During the search, police allegedly seized a mobile phone, a ballistic-style vest, and several notebooks.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service-possess violent extremist material and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today, Saturday, March 28. NSW Police reassures the community there is no ongoing threat.
