Farmers and agricultural employers will have an opportunity to get practical guidance on workplace changes, compliance requirements and employment risks at a NSW Farmers information session in Moree on Tuesday evening.
The Workplace Relations Information Session will be presented by NSW Farmers workplace relations advisor Cassandra Low and is open to both members and non-members.
NSW Farmers says workplace obligations are becoming increasingly complex, with the session aimed at helping employers understand what is changing, what they need to do and where key risks may arise.
Among the issues to be covered are psychosocial hazards in the workplace, including what employers need to do to identify and manage risks.
The session will also look at industrial relations reforms and what upcoming changes could mean for businesses, along with practical reminders about employer compliance obligations.
Employment documentation and record keeping will also be discussed as part of the compliance section.
Time will be set aside for questions, giving employers an opportunity to raise workplace relations issues relevant to their own businesses.
People registering for the session can also submit a question with their RSVP, with organisers saying they will endeavour to address submitted questions during the workshop.
The Moree session is part of a series of NSW Farmers workplace relations information sessions being held in regional centres including Tamworth, Gunnedah and Walgett.
The workshop will be held at Moree Services Club, 3 Albert Street, Moree, on Tuesday, September 15, from 5pm.
Registrations are essential and can be made through the NSW Farmers Humanitix event page.
Light refreshments will be supplied after the information session.
