Three students from the Moree district will be setting the tone and spirit of The Armidale School into 2027, having been inducted to key leadership positions last week.
Both captains of the two senior girls’ boarding houses at TAS hail from the district, with Aisha Moore of Moree inducted as Captain of Nina Macdonald House and Claudia Sykes, from Mungindi, Captain of Charlotte May Wright House. Together, the pair will lead the residential and pastoral life of 110 senior girl boarders.
Meanwhile Jack Farrell has been appointed Captain of Tyrrell House, the oldest boys’ boarding house and also one of six sporting houses.
The students were presented with their badges at an induction ceremony at TAS on the first day of Term 4.
At the ceremony, Principal Ray Pearson said at the heart of good leadership was service.
“Leadership is not about a badge or a title. It is about service. It is about having the courage to step forward, the humility to listen, and the willingness to make those around you better. Most importantly, it is about recognising that the standard you walk past is the standard you accept,” he said.
We look forward to seeing the positive influence that Aisha, Claudia and Jack will have, as they help shape the TAS experience for those who follow.”
