A man has died following a crash in south Moree on Friday.
At about 11.50am yesterday, emergency services were called to Frome Street following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to New England Police District attended and found a trail bike had left the roadway before crashing into a power pole.
The rider – a 26-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Moree Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police were later notified that about 6.30pm the man had died in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
In a separate accident, a man has died in a crash near Bundarra.
At about 6.35pm on Friday, emergency services were called to Gwydir River Road, about five kilometres south of Bundarra, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to New England Police District attended and found a Mazda utility had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The driver and sole occupant – a 19-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The man died at the scene.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
