MOREE Motorcycle Club on Sunday closed the 2025 season at Boolooroo Raceway with an RPA day, trophy presentation and a visit from Santa Claus – and the promise of a bigger and stronger year ahead.
Club president Matt Anderson said the end-of-year Christmas party, featuring learner-riders as young as four years of age, showcased everything the club has achieved this year, and what’s planned for next year.
“We’re looking forward to a full season of racing in Moree in 2026,” Anderson said.
“We’ll probably start racing about April and finish around September, and either side of that, we’ll have RPA days, like today.
“The Ride Park Australia days are put in place for recreational riding, and for people who just love riding motorbikes.
“Riders don’t need to be licensed, and there’s a very cheap entry-level price with full insurance. It’s a low-stress, low-impact environment, where everyone enjoys their motorcycles without the hustle and bustle of racing,” Anderson said.
The highlight of 2025, Anderson said, was the launch of a training program for newcomers.
“We had a big recruitment drive with all the mini-bike guys,” Anderson said.
“We put a program together at the end of last year to recruit new juniors, which has worked really well for the club. It’s been very strong, and really refreshing to see.
“The recruitment process now in place transitions the kids from beginners to starting them off on their racing journey.
“We’ve got a lot of new members and new faces, and everything suggests they’re here to stay,” he said.
The season just finished also saw major upgrades to the track, regarded one of the best in New South Wales, to comply with Motorcycling Australia requirements.
“We did a major upgrade, which was challenging,” Anderson said.
“That put us out of action for a few months, but with really good help from local businesses and volunteers we finished the year strongly.”
The club’s biggest event of the year was hosting round four of the Ironman MX Series in late June, with local riders Max Anderson, Trent Loder, Jaxon Page and Jesse Moore leading the charge for Moree.
“We had the Iron Man here – our key feature for the year,” Anderson said.
“That brought riders from everywhere – Queensland, the coast and Sydney regions.
“The Iron Man was a really good boost for the sport and the Moree club. We’ve got a reputation as having one of the best tracks in the bush, and it’s good to showcase that every year.
“It’s great to show people what we’re capable of hosting at Boolooroo Raceway, and bringing fresh, new faces out here to participate,” he said.
On Sunday, club championship shields and plaques were awarded to winners and runners-up across several classes.
The club’s squad of Nippers, including Niklaus and Vegas Loder, Zack, Benjamin and Edwina Hook, Eloise Hunt, Austin Driver, Angus Perkins, Rydah Morrison, Myles Dudley-Smith, Novah Buggie and Spencer Smith, received participation plaques.
In the 50cc competitive class, Roy Dudley-Smith topped the ladder from Harvey Perkins and Zack Hook, with the 65cc seven to under-10 years’ honours going to Oliver Patterson from Spencer Green and Jack Lehmann.
The senior 65cc 10 years to under-12 years was won by Bailey Brand from Reuben Green, with Harry Mahne winning the junior 85cc nine years to under 12 years from Bailey Brand and Reuben Green.
Spencer Glass defeated Hunter McCauley and Rixon Eaborn for senior 85cc 12 years to under-16 years and the junior lites was taken out by emerging rider Max Anderson from Chuck Thomas and Hunter McCauley.
Over-35s veterans was won by Julie Denyer from Bryce Loder and Daniel Green.
Ethan Baldwin won the C-grade competition, beating Luke McMillan and Sienna Ritchie, with Lachlan McGregor winning B-grade from Anthony Driver and Jacob O’Neile.
Overall junior champion was a three-way tie between Harry Mayne, Max Anderson and Bailey Brand.
A-grade went to Trent Loder from Tyler Johnson and Cameron Loder, with the Loder family taking 1-2-3 in the All Powers class – brothers Trent and Cameron, and dad Neil.
Trent Loder was also named overall senior champion.
“It was really great to have myself, my younger brother and our dad on the podium for the All-Powers class, along with my older brother on the podium in the veterans’ class and my two nephews, Vegas and Niklaus, in the 50cc class – Loders loaded with trophies,” he laughed.
“A big thank-you also to my partner, Ash, for taking time this year to get motos together. Even my grandmother Sandra – she’s 84 – was coming out and keeping me company while I did motos on my own.
“I also did a lot earlier in the year with young Max Anderson.
“Max is a young gun coming up through the club, and we’re all going to be eating his dust in a few years’ time,” Loder said.
