Walcha: Fatal three-vehicle crash

A person has died after a three-vehicle crash near Walcha.

At about 10.15am today, Wednesday, April 1, emergency services responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash along Thunderbolts Way, Walcha, about 90km east of Tamworth.

One of the involved vehicles was a truck carrying livestock.

An occupant from one of the vehicles died at the scene.

Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene that is being examined by specialist police.

Thunderbolts Way is closed in both directions and is expected to remain a crime scene for a considerable amount of time. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
