JOHN and Tina Mostyn are back at the Moree Show this year, ready to mesmerise audiences with their reptile awareness displays.
The Central Coast couple conduct Educational Venomous Snake Displays across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland and return to Moree after appearing at last year’s show.
Their incredible displays and reptile education and awareness sessions are extremely popular, and draw large crowds of all ages.
“Our educational venomous snake shows prove to be extremely educational to members of the general public, staff, students and visitors, due to high incidents of venomous snakes throughout New South Wales,” they said.
“We educate all about our reptiles, dispelling myths and we offer valuable advice on dealing with venomous snakes, providing an entertaining and informative, educational session.”
John and Tina will conduct educational snake shows at the Moree Show, with each session displaying the most commonly encountered, medically significant species, including those endemic to specific areas, with an educational talk about each species.
Talks include snake behaviour and how people should behave around snakes, as well as an emphasis on first-aid for snake bite.
“We love talking reptiles and provide a question-and-answer session at the end of each display,” they said.
Outside their public reptile displays, John and Tina also offer venomous training courses, basic and advanced venomous husbandry and handling, venomous catch and release training, snake and spider safety awareness seminars, tool box talks, site risk assessments and venomous snake removals and rescues.
They have more than 25 years’ combined experience in the zoological industry, and work extensively with venomous snakes.

John and Tina both previously worked at the Australia Reptile Park at Gosford.
John was head of the venom department and managed the life-saving anti-venom program, which involved extracting and processing venom from some of Australia’s most medically significant species of snakes for the production of BioCSL antivenom.
He also provided husbandry care for native and exotic venomous species.
John and Tina have been keeping venomous snakes privately for more than two decades and have also been rescuing and rehabilitating reptiles during this time and keep a large exhibitor and private collection of reptiles.
They will be appearing at the Moree Show at the grassed area in front of the former administration building next to the Hobson Pavilion.
