LOCAL Subaru dealership Hill Fitzsimmons will soon introduce the new Subaru Wilderness to Moree and the wider district.
The new nameplate, due for release in August-September, elevates the Outback story with enhanced capability, rugged design details and engineering tuned for tougher terrain.
Moree dealer principal, Doug Hill, said the Wilderness signals the next chapter in Subaru’s adventure-ready line-up.
“As well as the Wilderness, we also welcome the arrival of the all-new, seventh-generation Subaru Outback,” Doug said.
Redesigned from the ground up as a purpose-built SUV, the 2026 Subaru Outback brings a new level of toughness, capability and everyday ease.
With a taller stance, smarter technology and a more purposeful design, it continues the Outback legacy with confidence.
The all-new Wilderness variant amplifies this with exclusive finishes, unique off-road detailing and significantly increased ground clearance, giving customers a truly adventure-ready option straight from the showroom.
“The cabin is designed for long days behind the wheel, with new seating that delivers better lumbar and pelvic support,” Doug said.
The new seating design ensures reduced vibration, with both rows benefiting from increased headroom. Durable, easy-care materials suit the adventurous nature of the vehicle across AWD, Premium and Wilderness variants, while the AWD Touring variant receive Nappa leather-accented trim to add another layer of comfort.

Hill Fitzsimmons Moree Subaru sales manager Dean Griffiths with the all-new, seventh-generation Subaru Outback. Exciting new nameplate, the Subaru Wilderness, is due for release in August-September.
Practicality is improved through a taller cargo opening, strengthened ladder-style roof rails with higher static load capacity, and expanded storage solutions throughout the cabin.
“There is plenty of room for extra luggage for those longer trips,” Doug said.
The all-new Subaru Outback debuts a significantly stronger, more purposeful SUV presence, with increased height and width, an upright front end and redesigned LED headlights that enhances both visibility and road confidence.
Under the bonnet, performance comes from a choice of refined direct-injection Boxer engines.
The 2.5-litre engine delivers smoother, quieter performance, while Wilderness exclusively receives the more powerful 2.4-litre turbocharged engine for effortless response on highways, inclines and remote terrain.
Prices for the 2026 Outback Wilderness start at $65,112, with Outback AWD starting at $53,877.
As part of Subaru Australia’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional value and customer satisfaction, the Owner’s Program for the all-new Subaru Outback incudes a five-year, unlimited kilometre new vehicle warranty, with 12-months complimentary roadside assistance.
Meanwhile, Subaru Australia has won the Major Car Manufacturer of the Year Award for the second year running at the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards.
Subaru Australia’s general manager, Scott Lawrence, said winning back-to-back awards is a proud achievement.
“Being named Roy Morgan’s Major Car Manufacturer of the Year for the second consecutive year gives us immense pride – but it’s also quite humbling,” Mr Lawrence said.
“In a market where customers have never had more choice, this kind of recognition means a great deal to everyone at Subaru Australia and our retailer network.
“It starts with the engineering excellence that goes into every vehicle built, complemented by the genuine care our retailer network brings to every customer interaction.
“I want to personally thank our retailers for their tireless dedication, and our customers for continuing to place their trust in us.
“To have that recognised by Roy Morgan two years in a row is a tremendous honour, and it reinforces our determination to keep delivering the experience our customers deserve,” Mr Lawrence said.
The win further builds on Subaru Australia’s strong reputation for customer satisfaction, complementing its back-to-back Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers – SUV titles and reinforcing the brand’s enduring connection with Australian drivers across its full vehicle line-up.
Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine congratulated Subaru Australia.
“Subaru sold close to 40,000 cars in Australia in 2025 and has been consistently rated by Australians as delivering high levels of satisfaction,” Ms Levine said.
