Annual General Meeting

Moree Race Club needs numbers

Nov 5, 2024

MOREE Race Club is seeking new committee members, and with the club’s biggest meeting of the year only a couple of months away, the call-out is on for more hands on deck.

The club hosts an eight-race TAB meeting on Friday, November 1 to herald the start of Melbourne Cup week, with the all-important annual general meeting scheduled the following Thursday, November 7.

Club president Rob Mather said the small, dedicated committee needs numbers, especially with the club’s signature Christmas meeting only a few sleigh bells away.

“We’d like to see as many members as possible come along to the AGM, and seriously consider joining the committee,” Rob said.

“We’ve got two meetings scheduled for the remainder of the year and, as everyone knows, the Christmas meeting is a huge event that requires a lot of work.

“If we can get a few more members join the committee that will soften the workload,” he said.

The AGM will be held at the racecourse at 6pm on Thursday, November 7 in the grandstand bar area.

“We’ll have a lot to discuss and a lot of planning to do, heading into the Christmas meeting, and the more members we can get to come along to the meeting the better,” Rob said.

“Current committee members and club secretary Michelle Gobbert will also be at the November 1 meeting if anything wants to have a chat about joining the committee.

Moree Race Club president Rob Mather wants to see as many members as possible come along to the November 7 AGM.

“We’re very flexible and every little bit of help makes the overall job much easier,” he said.
