THE Moree Hospital redevelopment project recently received planning approval, which is a key step in finalising the planning and design phase.
As part of the planning approval process, the project was placed on public exhibition during October and November last year and public submissions were called.
There were four formal submissions received which have been reviewed and documented in the response to submissions report.
The planning documentation, including the response to submissions report, is housed on the NSW Government’s Planning Portal here: Moree Hospital Redevelopment Planning Portal.
Following the completion of the competitive tender process, a builder will be engaged, and the project scope and a construction timeline will be confirmed.
Construction is anticipated to commence this year and the community will continue to be updated as the project progresses.
In an earlier media release, Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park said the Moree Hospital redevelopment will provide patients, families and carers with a modern healthcare facility to meet the health needs of the community now and into the future.
“The release of the construction tender is a significant milestone for the project,” Mr Park said.
“We are grateful for the valuable time and input provided by staff and stakeholders into the planning design process for the redevelopment and look forward to seeing a builder appointed.
“This is also a great opportunity for the community to provide their final feedback on the plans while they are on exhibition.”
