About this event

A free Community Conversations session on planning ahead for future health and care will be held at TAFE NSW Boggabilla on Wednesday 4 November.

The 1.5-hour session runs from 10am to 11.30am in Room B.G.01, led by Palliative Care NSW and Carers NSW with local health workers. It is a safe and respectful yarn about planning for future care in a way that reflects a person’s choices, wishes and values.

Those taking part will go through planning ahead for health care, sharing what matters most with family, carers and health workers, and making sure wishes, values, culture and choices are respected if someone becomes unwell and cannot speak for themselves. The session also covers the options open to people and the supports available to families and the community, including what palliative care is and how to access it.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome, at any age or stage of life. Complimentary morning tea and resource kits are provided.

Registration is essential, and details are at events.humanitix.com/community-conversations-boggabilla.

A second session runs later the same day in Moree, from 3pm to 4.30pm at the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre.
