Rowdo’s 10s

About this event
Moree and District Cricket Association is hosting Rowdo’s 10s, a 10 over, 8-a-side competition, in memory of Chris Rowden, a former president of the association.
Chris Rowden, known widely as Rowdo, introduced the short 10 over format in Moree in 2023. After his death in December that year, the competition became an annual day played in his memory, with his family attending for the presentation of the shield.
The competition will be played at Ron Harborne Oval on Saturday 10 October 2026, from 1pm until about 5pm. Three teams have been nominated: Thunder, Golfies and Crows. Every team plays the others once, with a final to follow.
Players must be 16 or over. Entry is free.
After play, players and supporters will head to a tavern, where the club will put on drinks for the players.
Rules:
- 8 players per side: 10 overs per innings.
- Each player to bowl 1 over, with two players to bowl 2 each.
- Maximum 3 metre run up to speed up the overs.
- Wides and No Balls both count as 4 runs with a free hit the next ball. Wides and No Balls are not to be re-bowled. If a Wide or No Ball is bowled on the final delivery in the over, Free Hit is taken on the first ball of the next over.
- Batsmen to retire on 30 runs, only to return if others are out/retire before the end of the innings.
- Batting Powerplay: 2 fielders allowed outside inner circle for the first 2 overs.
- 1 New ball to be used per team for the whole day.
