MOREE Police are seeking public assistance in locating stolen motorcycles taken from a property in the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 2.
Three motorcycles, a blue Yamaha Grizzly 700cc quad, blue Yamaha 230cc motorcycle and a pink and black Honda CRF110 motorcycle, are believed to be still in the Moree area.
If you have any information relating to these vehicles please contact Moree Police on (02) 67570799. Reports can also be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
Information is treated in strict confidence.
The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.
Meanwhile, motorists are reminded double demerits will be in place over the Labour Day long week.
The double demerits will commence Friday October 4 at midnight and be in force until 11.59pm, Monday, October 7.
Drivers will incur a fine and double demerit points if they are caught speeding, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, caught driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, not wearing a helmet on a motorcycle or disobeying road rules and signs.
The Demerit Points Scheme helps make roads safer by encouraging motorists to drive responsibly.
Be safe this long weekend – be a responsible driver.
We have youths in the area where the bikes were taken, riding up and down the roads on unregistered bikes; including riding over the bridge. One of these underage youths rides down the highway on just the back wheel. Unsure why they don’t go to school. Unless these youths are taught to respect the law and attend school we will continue to have crime. I am not suggesting they took the bikes however these children are breaking the law; parents are?
