NARRABRI Shire Council will host Sunset on Summer, a special community event celebrating the resilience and unity of the shire’s farmers, residents and business owners.

Sunset on Summer, to be held at the Tourist Hotel, Narrabri, on Saturday, February 15, invites the community to come together, reflect on achievements, and look forward to a resilient future.

Mayor Darrell Tiemens stressed the significance Sunset on Summer.

“Sunset on Summer is more than just a celebration, it’s an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our community during challenging times,” Cr Tiemens said.

“Events like this play a vital role in strengthening our bonds, enhancing recovery readiness, and pride in what we’ve accomplished together.”

The session highlights the importance of mental health and connection in community recovery.

“I’m incredibly proud to be part of Sunset on Summer, a truly special event that celebrates community, collaboration, and connection,” Ms Guest said.

“This event is all about bringing people together, and strengthening existing relationships while creating opportunities to build new ones.

“We’re also thrilled it supports the incredible work of Rural Aid, an organisation making a real difference in rural communities,” she said.

Funded by the NSW Reconstruction Authority, Sunset on Summer will raise funds for Rural Aid, reflecting Narrabri’s gratitude for support received during drought.

“Rural Aid stood by us during tough times, and now it’s our turn to extend that support to others in need,” Cr Tiemens said.

“This fundraiser underscores the strength of our broader community connections.”

Attendees will enjoy music, inspiration, and connection. Recovery-focused messaging will feature speeches and stories of resilience, and attendees will engage with the Community Resilience Network to learn about its critical role in recovery efforts.
