A 48-hour water restriction in Moree will be lifted at 6pm today, January 21
Emergency works have now been rectified and completed.
However, due to the process of bleeding the lines a couple of reservoir towers are currently experiencing low water pressure due to low water levels.
This may continue to affect residents for a couple more hours.
Moree Plains Shire Council asks residents to refrain from using water for external purposes until 6pm tonight, Tuesday, January 21, to allow the pressure to build back up.
“We have appreciated your understanding and cooperation during this time,” acting general namager Darryl Fitzgerald said.
In unrelated news, council has also launched an active leak detection project.
Contractor Leak Tech has been engaged to conduct water-leaking testing as a part of the NSW Government’s $15.5M Regional Leakage Reduction Program.
Property owners may see the contractors around their property. However, they will not need to access properties or cause any disruption to day-to-day operations.
Leak Tech will be in the Moree Plains Shire until January 28.
Residents with queries regarding this matter, can contact council’s Water Department on 6757 3222 or email [email protected].
