MOREE Christian School is calling for 2026 Year 11 enrolments and will hold an information evening on April 3 detailing all relevant material needed for parents and students.

The school this year welcomed seven students to Year 11 – next year’s inaugural Year 12 School Certificate candidates – and the Stage 6 extension is expected to grow in numbers.

Teaching and learning co-ordinator Emily Cobb said the one-hour information evening will be held from 6pm on Thursday, April 3 at the Moree Christian School Hall at 409 Chester Street.

“The evening is an initial discussion around subject choices for Year 11 and 12 schooling at Moree Christian School,” Mrs Cobb said.

The school is also enrolling new students into all Kindergarten to Year 11 levels for 2026, with enrolments now open.

“The evening supports students in their subject selection by providing an overview of their subject options,” Mrs Cobb said.

Subject options include school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.

Current students as well as new students – once enrolment is confirmed – will undertake individual meetings to talk through career aspirations, skills and possible subject selections for Year 11.

Year 11 and Year 12 are mixed-mode, with students taking half their subjects in face-to-face mode, and the other half through an online external provider.

“This means students have a wide range of subjects available to them and they aren’t limited by smaller enrolments,” Mrs Cobb said.

“The community feel of the school, with a focus on character and values-based education means students can be nurtured in their transition to adulthood.

“This involves fostering growing independence and responsibility, providing opportunities for leadership and supporting students with practical career, study and life skills,” she said.

Moree Christian School students participate as active members of the school community in swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals.

They also have the opportunity to participate as members of the school band, audition for the bi-annual school play, and attend the Years 5-12 school camp on alternate years.

“The school aims to provide academic excellence while also equipping students with wisdom for life,” Mrs Cobb said.

“This means that even during the senior years of schooling, students are nurtured in a holistic way, teaching them the HSC mark is just one aspect of their schooling and journey of life.

“They are to set goals and work hard to achieve them, with the support of their teachers, however the school also desires students graduate as active members of their community with the skills needed for life,” she said.

The three pillars of the school learning framework are Authentic Faith, Courageous Learners and Inspired to Service.

“Our aim is to have students learn what it means to live a life of authentic faith in Jesus; whether they choose this for themselves or not,” Mrs Cobb said.

“We strive for our students to take risks, think critically, collaborate with others, and try new things as they undertake their learning with courage.

“It is our deep hope that students will be inspired to serve others around them, recognising they have the opportunity to impact the world around them for good as the next generation of changemakers, both in our current Moree community and further afield,” Mrs Cobb said.
