JOFF Cannington saw the light – and power – about 15 years ago.
And he’s been delivering both to clients across eastern Australia ever since.
Mr Cannington owns and manages Compressed Air Light & Power in Moree and, as the name suggests, CALP specialises in compressed air systems and lighting solutions for agricultural, industrial and commercial applications.
The Moree team will be at HarvestFest at Moree Showground today. They know their customers require tough, dependable machines, along with accessories built to withstand extreme weather and harsh road conditions across the black-soil plains.
To answer the call, Mr Cannington has teamed up with local businesses Brad Arthur Engineering and OneAg – formerly Vantage Australia – and designed an all-in-one trailer for CALP’s extensive range of Atlas Copco air compressors.
These trailers have been designed and built to handle rough, black-dirt roads and include reels and storage compartments for efficiency during the intensive periods of cotton-picking and crop-harvesting.
Previous trailer designs weren’t versatile enough to handle local conditions and were built in Brisbane.
Mr Cannington was keen to source a local firm to build the trailers, and enlisted the help of Brad Arthur Engineering to bring his vision to life.
“The new and improved trailer is made locally, here in Moree, and the design allows for a large hard-wearing toolbox, a high-volume hose reel – used for blowing down machines – and a low-volume hose reel fixed to the trailer for small air applications,” Mr Cannington said.
“Ben, at Vantage Moree, plumbs the hose reels up to the machine, and it’s good to go,” he smiled.

The trailers are made to spec for the Atlas Copco XAS375, U250 and U190 air compressors.
The XAS375 has 102 psi and free air delivery of 392 CFM powered by a Deutz engine.
The U250 and U190 are 100 psi, 250 CFM and 100 psi, 190 CFM respectively and both are powered by Kubota engines.
“Brad is currently designing the next generation 850cfm rental compressor trailer for the Compressed Air Light and Power rental compressor fleet,” Mr Cannington said.
“With 135psi of pressure and 430 litres of air per second, this unit can run up to three large hoses for cleaning multiple machines at the same time.”
These machines and others will be on display at the HarvestFest field day at Moree Showground on August 5-6 as well as the Australian Cotton Trade Show in Toowoomba August 6-7.
Compressed Air Light & Power will also showcase machinery at AgQuip Gunnedah on August 19-21 at site V06-07.
“Our team is going to be very busy during the coming weeks at ag and machinery field days on both sides of the border, and we invite everyone to come along and have chat with us about our products and services,” Mr Cannington said.
Compressed Air Light & Power is the exclusive supplier of Atlas Copco products across regional New South Wales and offers more than 90 products, including generators from 1kva up to 1 megawatt, LED light towers and electric and diesel air compressors to 1500cfm in portable and stationary units.
CALP also supplies Atlas Copco Portable Pumps – diesel and electric, for a wide range of applications including sewer mains diversion, clean and dirty water transfer and dewatering sites including quarry, slurry and dredging applications.
