MOREE Services Football Club and Moree dietitian Renaye Madden were given Community Recognition Statements in parliament on Thursday by Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan.

Mr Moylan recognised the remarkable achievements of the Moree Services Football Club throughout the 2025 season, which saw the club collar a 2-1 grand-final win against Narrabri FC Elevens in the Namoi Football League grand-final at Hogan Oval, Narrabri in September.

“The club’s dedication to nurturing talent across all levels has ensured a bright future for football in Moree,” Mr Moylan said.

“In times when Moree faces many challenges, this celebration of our sporting men and women remind of us all of the strength and joy that comes from community spirit.

“I congratulate the Moree Services FC Blue team players: Chloe Tindal, Matthew McLane, Steven Pinner, John Addae, Sandeep Basnet, Ethan Hayes, Charles Onus, Todd Jones, Rhys Miller, Adam Ha, Jonah Strahan, Kenneth Wright, Lucas Schembri, Philip Strahan, Travis Hook, PJ Ryan, Dominic Miller and Olivia Pinner on their thrilling grand final victory in the Namoi Football League – ironically beating last year’s winners by the same score,” Mr Moylan said.

Moree Services Football Club was given a Community Recognition Statement in parliament on Thursday by Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan.

“I commend the players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and loyal supporters whose efforts made this success possible.

“Your dedication and teamwork, both on and off the field, embody the true spirit of community. The 2025 season will be remembered not only for its triumphs, but for the way the Moree Services FC bought people together through shared effort, pride and love of the game,” told parliament.

Mr Moylan also paid tribute to Moree dietician Renaye Madden, who won a national health award for co-developing a First Nations-focused, fussy eating resource for children.

Ms Madden was announced the winner of the Dedication to Health in a Remote Location Award at the 2025 National Rural Health Rural and Remote Health Awards, held at the National Press Club in Canberra earlier this month.

“I congratulate Renaye on this impressive national accomplishment, recognising her leadership in co-designing community-led nutrition and health initiatives, and commitment to culturally responsive care and education in remote communities, improving outcomes for Aboriginal families,” Mr Moylan said.

“Such an impact has been achieved through her dual roles as Associate Lecturer in Allied Health with University of Newcastle’s Department of Rural Health and Pius X Aboriginal Medical Service. “Accomplishments include co-developing with local Elders a First Nations‑focused fussy eating resource for children; healthy eating cookbook celebrating local food traditions; creating immersive and culturally respectful student placements through the Experience Moree program, promoting Moree as a destination for health future professionals; supporting the wellbeing of remote clinicians, by tailored professional development, via burnout prevention program; and conducting outreach to schools in Moree and Boggabilla, inspiring the next generation of Aboriginal health professionals.

“I commend Renaye on her success and valuable work, providing a legacy to the health sector and our community,” Mr Moylan said.
