Member for Oxley Michael Kemp and I are putting pressure on the NSW Government to commit to a plan to fix the repeated disruptions on Waterfall Way after another landslip has closed the road and it isn’t anticipated to re-open until early February.
When it rains, landslips occur regularly along this road and the government’s solution is ineffective patch-up jobs.
Waterfall Way is a major route which connects the Northern Tablelands to the east coast for commercial, agricultural and tourist operations.
When it closes, operations are either forced to stop or take a much longer route.
We have requested the government to come up with a long-term plan to make this road safer, stronger, and more reliable.

Another landslip has closed Waterfall Way. The road isn’t anticipated to re-open until early February.
Deepwater Cup
The Deepwater Cup will be on this Saturday with the first race at 1.30pm.
It is a great country race day and always draws a big crowd. There are six races on offer with the main Cup race the fifth of the day at 3.50pm.
Get along and support the Deepwater Jockey Club for the race that stops the nation.
Gwydir funding
I caught up with Gwydir Shire Council mayor Tiff Galvin to inspect projects at the Roxy Theatre, Riverbank, and The Living Classroom. These landmarks are all very important to the community and are incredibly important to keep them maintained. It was great to see progress being made.
