Mark Strahle elected as Narrabri Shire Councillor

Apr 9, 2026

MARK Strahle has been elected as Narrabri Shire Council’s newest councillor following the 2026 Narrabri Shire Council countback election held last week.

The appointment of Mr Strahle is a fitting replacement for Amanda Brown, with the two candidates running for election as part of the same group.

Narrabri Shire mayor Darrell Tiemens believes Mr. Strahle is a great addition to Narrabri Shire Council.

“Mark has had a very diverse and successful career across agriculture, logistics and law enforcement and I look forward to seeing him apply this experience and knowledge in his role as councillor,” Cr Tiemens said.

Mr. Strahle was thrilled to be elected. He said he is ready to get to work and serve the community.

“I would like to acknowledge Amanda Brown’s service and her unfortunate resignation that has given me the opportunity to join a great team of councillors,” Mr Strahle said.

“I am looking forward to making a meaningful contribution to Council and the shire.”

Mr Strahle, following being officially sworn in to his new role, will attend the April Ordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 15.
