Jukes and Son Tyre Service continually growing to meet increased customer demand

Jun 7, 2026

FOR more than six decades, Jukes and Son Tyre Service has been one of Moree’s best-known automotive businesses, building a reputation for reliability, hard work and service to the district’s agricultural community.

The tyre and mechanical repairs business has grown from a small local operation established in the early 1960s to one of the region’s major tyre service providers.

Founded by Jimmy Jukes in the early 1960s, the business was built on a simple philosophy – provide strong customer service, maintain a large tyre range and look after local people.

More than 60 years later, those same principles still drive the company today.

Jukes services everything from passenger vehicles and utes to heavy machinery, trucks and agricultural equipment.

In a district heavily reliant on farming, cotton and grain production, tyre maintenance is critical, particularly during busy harvest and picking seasons when machinery breakdowns can cost growers valuable time and money.

With recent expansion including a new mechanical workshop to complement its tyre-fitting sales and service, Jukes now employs more than 20 staff and operates several mobile service vehicles that travel across the district repairing and replacing tyres on farms and remote properties.

Jukes and Son Tyre Service principal, Graham Warner, said his team is at the ready.

“During harvest periods, staff often work extended hours to keep machinery operating and minimise downtime for local producers,” Graham said.

Jukes and Son is closely associated with the agricultural industry in the Moree region, carrying large stocks of tractor, header and cotton-picker tyres, as well as tyres for four-wheel-drives, SUVs and commercial vehicles.

Major brands stocked by the business include Bridgestone, Michelin, Yokohama, Firestone and BKT.

In addition to tyre fitting and repairs, Jukes also provides wheel alignments, balancing, mechanical repairs, registration inspections and major vulcanising repairs.

The workshop has expanded over the years to meet increasing customer demand and changing technology within the automotive industry.

Graham said no job is too big or too small for the Jukes’ team.

“We also offer a solid-fill tyre service, which helps eliminate punctures in smaller tyres commonly used on wheelbarrows, lawnmowers and industrial equipment,” he said.

“The service has proven popular with customers wanting to avoid inconvenient flat tyres around homes, farms and workplaces.”

Jukes’ long-standing presence in Moree makes it a recognisable name for generations of local families, while travelling motorists and truck operators passing through town often rely on its emergency repair services.

As farming technology and machinery continue to evolve, so too has Jukes and Son Tyre Service, adapting to modern equipment while maintaining the old-fashioned customer service established by Jimmy Jukes more than 60 years ago.

Today, whether it is a farmer needing urgent repairs during harvest, a family requiring new tyres before a holiday trip or a truck driver stranded with a puncture, Jukes and Sons remains an important part of the Moree community and one of the district’s enduring local businesses.
