FOR 115 years, Toowoomba Anglican School has forged a strong connection with the Moree Plains region – and aims to strengthen that connection at the Moree Run the Plains festival on September 26-27.

The school’s proud tradition as Australia’s only independent, co-educational, K-12 day and boarding school, offering boarding from Years 1-12, has helped shape the lives of countless students from regional Australia.

This tradition of excellence will enter a new era under the leadership of new Director of Boarding, Mr Kyle Langman.

Mr Langman brings more than 15 years of experience in leading and transforming boarding programs across Queensland, the United Kingdom and South Africa.

Part of Mr Langman’s first duties as the new Director of Boarding will be engaging with families from across the Moree region during the school’s upcoming visit as part of the Run the Plains event.

This year, Toowoomba Anglican School is a bronze sponsor of Run the Plains.

Toowoomba Anglican School Principal, Nick Johnstone, said he hopes this year’s involvement is the beginning of a long association with Run the Plains.

“Run the Plains is one of the many highlights of the Moree Plains calendar and as a school, we are really looking forward to being involved,” Mr Johnstone said.

As part of Run the Plains, Toowoomba Anglican School will host community catch-up events on Saturday, September 27 at Brooker Trading Co between 7am and 9am and at the Pally Pub between 1pm and 3pm.

“These events will be a great opportunity to catch up and meet our new Director of Boarding and everyone is welcome,” Mr Johnstone said.

Prior to joining Toowoomba Anglican School, Mr Langman served as Head of Leadership – boys and girls – and Head of Year 12 Boys’ Boarding at Rockhampton Grammar School.

During his tenure, Mr Langman forged an impressive record of fostering inclusive, values-driven residential communities that enable students to flourish academically, socially, and personally.

In addition to his strong Queensland boarding school leadership, Mr Langman’s career has taken him to internationally respected institutions, including Cothill House in Oxford and Maritzburg College in South Africa.

His global perspective has shaped an approach that blends the best of Australian boarding traditions with innovative practices from leading schools worldwide.

Mr Johnstone said Mr Langman’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for boarding at Toowoomba Anglican School.
