Barefoot bowls evening to showcase Regional Australia Bank’s Community Partnership Program

Jun 11, 2026

THE Regional Australia Bank Moree branch will host an information evening and social games of barefoot bowls on Friday, June 12 at Moree Services Club to highlight the benefits of the bank’s Community Partnership Program.

Moree branch home lending specialist Bronte Egan said the evening will provide information about the program, which supports community groups through a unique member-based funding model, while also giving attendees the opportunity to enjoy a social evening of barefoot bowls.

“We are encouraging more local not-for-profit organisations to become involved,” Bronte said.

“It will be an informal night with a bit of information to share with groups to help everyone understand the program a little more and how we can help these organisations increase their supporter numbers.

“This in turn will increase the bonus payment they receive at the end of each financial year. The program has been running for nearly 20 years and last year we shared $2.7million across all groups, with $166,500 of it shared among our Moree branch recipients,” Bronte said.

The Community Partnership Program operates across the Regional Australia Bank network and currently supports about 2200 registered community groups. In the Moree branch area, including surrounding communities and villages, nearly 100 not-for-profit organisations are registered.

Organisations interested in attending Friday night’s get-together can contact Moree branch team leader Sharna McMaster on 6776 6806 or email [email protected]. Under the initiative, bank members can nominate a registered community group they would like to support. The program comes at no cost to either the member or the not-for-profit organisation.

Each year, registered groups receive a bonus payment through the bank’s annual Community Partnership Program presentation evening. The amount received depends on the level of support generated through member participation.

“It’s such an amazing program and all it takes to grow it, is awareness from members and groups spreading the word,” Bronte said.

“To me, it’s a no-brainer and local, not-for-profit organisations are part of a bank that wants to give back to the community.”
