NarraBRIGHT 2026 is set to transform Narrabri into a glowing fantasy world on Friday, with the community and visitors invited to experience one of the region’s most anticipated events.
From immersive light installations and large-scale projections to food, markets and live entertainment, this year’s expanded event will deliver a full night of colour, creativity and community across the Narrabri CBD in Maitland Street and Dewhurst Street and Narrabri Creek Parklands.
Narrabri Shire Mayor Darrell Tiemens encourages everyone to come along and experience the magic.
“NarraBRIGHT has become a highlight on our events calendar, and this year’s expanded footprint means there is more to see, do and explore than ever before,” Cr Tiemens said.
“We’re inviting locals and visitors alike to come into town, support our businesses and experience Narrabri in a whole new light.”
Visitors can wander the illuminated creek pathway, experience stunning projection art along Maitland Street, and enjoy a wide range of food vendors, market stalls and family-friendly activities.
Event highlights include immersive installations by leading lighting artists, interactive children’s experiences, the Centacare Carnival Zone, Essential Energy sensory-friendly garden, and live performances throughout the evening.
Council’s Small Business Liaison Officer and NarraBRIGHT event manager, Gillian Goddard, said the event has been designed to offer something for everyone.
“Whether you’re coming for the lights, the food, the entertainment or simply the atmosphere, NarraBRIGHT is all about bringing people together and creating a memorable night out for the whole community.”
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of attendees, a number of road closures will be in place on Friday.

NarraBRIGHT is regarded one of the region’s premier light, art and community events.
Maitland Street, between Doyle and Dewhurst Streets, will be closed from 1pm to 11.59pm; Dewhurst Street, between Maitland and Tibbereena Streets, will be closed from 3pm to 11.30pm;
Tibbereena Street, between Collins Park and Bowen Street, will be closed from 4.30pm to 11.30pm; and Oval ring access road will be closed from 12pm to 11.30pm.
Motorists are asked to remove vehicles from these areas prior to closure times and to follow all signage and directions on the day.
In addition, the Narrabri Creek Pathway will be closed from Monday, April6 to Monday, April 13 between Collins Park and Leitch Oval to allow for event preparation and pack down.
NarraBRIGHT is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program in association with Narrabri Shire Council, with Council securing $350,000 funding over three years.
Minister for Transport, John Graham said the Open Streets program is cutting red tape and supporting local events like NarraBRIGHT
“Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to,” Mr Graham said. “As this event highlights, we can use our streets to bring communities together and drive revenue for local businesses.”
