Jun 28, 2026

A GoFundMe page has been launched for well-known Moree resident Greg Johnston, who is battling aggressive prostate cancer.

The diagnosis has come as a huge shock to Johnno, his wife Tracey and their families, and everyone who knows them.

Through every appointment, test and difficult conversation, Tracey has been by Johnno’s side every step of the way, providing unwavering love and support.

The GoFundMe page, organised by Johnno’s niece, Kerri-Lynn Peachey, has a target of $10,000 to help the Johnston family.

“Our uncle has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is now facing a challenging road ahead with treatment and ongoing medical care,” Kerri-Lynn said.

Greg and Tracey Johnston. Greg will soon start radiation treatment in Queensland to fight aggressive prostate cancer.

“We’ve created a GoFundMe to help ease some of this pressure so he and his family can focus on what matters most: his treatment, recovery and spending time with loved ones.

“Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much and would be deeply appreciated,” she said.

Family friend, Helen Smith, said Johnno will need to travel to Queensland for radiation treatment.

“This is going to be a big struggle financially for Johnno and his family,” Helen said.

“Johnno and Tracey are the first to put their hands up for anyone in need, so now it’s time to help them get through this.”

As Johno begins his fight, Kerri-Lyn said the focus needs to be on treatment, recovery and spending time with those who matter most.

“Unfortunately, cancer brings significant financial pressures, including medical expenses, travel costs and lost income during treatment,” she said.

“We hope that by setting up this GoFundMe page, it will help ease some of these burdens and provide Johno and Tracey with the support they need during this challenging time.

“Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference and allow them to focus on what is important – Johno’s health and recovery,” Kerri-Lyn said.
