DOMINO’S proprietor Jill Adams has been recognised for her unwavering support of Moree Junior Soccer Club over the past 10 years – smack-bang on the 10-year anniversary of Domino’s in Moree.
The store celebrates its 10th birthday today, and for the past decade has donated thousands of pizza vouchers worth tens of thousands of dollars to junior soccer players in Moree.
The Saturday morning Pizza Awards for good sportsmanship and teamwork are hugely popular, and keenly anticipated.
Moree Junior Soccer Club president Ben Dawson said Domino’s has been amazing supporters from the day Mrs Adams opened the Moree franchise in 2016.
“The pizza awards have become an important part of Moree Junior Soccer, and are awarded for good play, good teamwork or good sportsmanship in every game played, every week of the season, and are eagerly pursued by our players,” Mr Dawson said.
“When you work out there are around 15 games per round and 18 to 20 rounds per season, you start to get a handle on the generosity of Jill and her Domino’s team.”
Mr Dawson presented Mrs Adams with a special plaque at Moree junior soccer on Saturday morning.
Mrs Adams said she wanted Domino’s Moree to be more than just a pizza store.
“I wanted it to be a business that genuinely contributed to the community and supported people when they needed it most,” she said.

For the past decade, Domino’s Moree has provided pizza vouchers to junior players throughout the season as a way of recognising participation, effort, commitment and sportsmanship.
“What began as a simple gesture has grown into a tradition that many local families now associate with junior soccer,” Mrs Adams smiled.
Since the concept began, more than 3000 pizza vouchers, with an estimated value of around $45,000, have been donated.
“For me, supporting junior sport has always been about investing in young people,” she said. “Community sport teaches children valuable life skills including teamwork, resilience, discipline and confidence. It also provides a sense of belonging and connection that is incredibly important in regional communities.
“Seeing children excited to receive a voucher after a game has always been rewarding, but the real value comes from knowing local businesses and community organisations can work together to create positive experiences for young people.
“The partnership with Moree Junior Soccer Club has now spanned almost the entire life of Domino’s in Moree and remains one of the most rewarding community initiatives we have been involved in,” she said.
“As Domino’s Moree celebrates its 10-year milestone, I would like to thank the volunteers, committee members, coaches, parents and players who have helped make Moree junior soccer such an important part of our community.
“We look forward to continuing our support for many years to come,” Mrs Adams said.
While it is impossible to place an exact figure on donation, sponsorship and fundraising efforts made over the past decade, it is estimated Domino’s Moree has donated more than $120,000 worth of pizzas, vouchers and fundraising support – donations returned to the Moree community.
“For me, community support has never been about recognition. It is simply about helping where we can,” Mrs Adams said.
“My personal philosophy has always been, if you put good into the world, good will come back to you in some way,” she smiled.
Junior soccer in Moree continues to thrive, with strong support from local businesses.
“As a club, we are blessed by the amount of sponsors keen to be involved, including team shirt sponsors, equipment sponsors and general club sponsors,” Mr Dawson said.
“So much so, we often have a waiting list with more potential sponsors than teams.
“While there are too many to name, we thank all sponsors of the Moree Junior Soccer Club, past and present, for their support.
“Sponsors are integral to the running of the club, and our players love running out in their fantastic shirts with their sponsors logos on their chests,” he said.
