MOREE Boars bounced back from a shock defeat at the hands of Gunnedah last week, with a walk-over 60-nil win against Narrabri Blues at Collins Park, Narrabri in the Group 4 rugby league competition on Saturday.
The Boars averaged a try every six minutes – the score was 40-nil at half-time – when the mercy rule was called after Adrian Smith converted an Alex Barker try in the 65th minute.
Moree winger Dereik Newman planted three tries, with five-eighth Jamie Sampson and centre Alex Barker each scoring two tries.
Second-rower Jock Brazel, prop Daniel Howe, winger Jake Tighe and interchange Cody Picker each crossed for four-pointers, with fullback Bobby Smith kicking eight conversions from 11 attempts.
Moree captain-coach Jack Durheim said Narrabri was “a good day”.

“We showed up with the right attitude and worked well on the issues that were identified in our disappointing loss to Gunnedah,” Durheim said.
“We defended very well and were great in attack, and we are looking forward to Werris Creek this weekend.
“We are hoping to carry our attitude, defence and attack into this weekend and get the result we know we can get,” he said.
After last weekend’s big win, the Boars lead the points ladder on 14 points and for-and-against table, with 316 points for and 130 against.
Gunnedah Bulldogs and Werris Creek Magpies share second spot on 12 points – Gunnedah in front on for-and-against – with Dungowan Cowboys in forth spot on 10 points.
Moree Boars travel to David Taylor Oval on Saturday to play Werris Creek Magpies in first-grade, second-grade and ladies tackle.
In other games on round nine of the Group 4 competition, North Tamworth Bears are at home at Jack Woolaston Oval on Sunday and Narrabri Blues take on Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters at Collins Park in Narrabri on Sunday.
