The Men’s Health Education Rural Van provides free health checks during visits to regional and rural NSW.

Free men’s health checks will be available in Moree for two days when the Men’s Health Education Rural Van visits Dipper’s Home Hardware on Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20.

The MHERv van will operate from 9.30am to 3.30pm at 398 Warialda Street, offering checks including blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol testing.

The program focuses on men’s health, particularly encouraging men who may not regularly visit a doctor to have basic health indicators checked. However, the service is open to everyone.

A registered nurse conducts the checks and can discuss health concerns privately inside the van.

MHERv travels through regional and rural NSW providing free health checks and is operated by the Rotary Club of Warners Bay in collaboration with Rotary clubs and other community organisations.

The Lions Club of Moree is hosting this year’s local visit after the Moree Rotary Club, which previously hosted the van, dissolved from July 1.

Residents will also be able to donate used mobile phones during the visit as part of the DV Safe Phone program. The supplied media release says donated phones will be collected for refurbishment and distribution through organisations supporting people affected by domestic violence.

The MHERv van will be at Dipper’s Home Hardware from 9.30am to 3.30pm on both days.
