Moree Plains Shire Council will hold its next Community Q&A session outside normal work hours following feedback received at previous sessions.

The session will be held from 5.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday, September 16, in the Council Committee Room on Level 1 of the Max Centre, 30 Heber Street, Moree.

Moree Plains Shire Mayor Susannah Pearse said the later session was intended to give more residents an opportunity to attend.

“The last time Council held a Q&A session, we received feedback that people would like more opportunities at times that suit those who work and may not be able to attend things at Council during the day,” Cr Pearse said.

“We’ve deliberately put this session on after work hours to give a different group of people the opportunity to come along and have a chat with Council.”

The Q&A sessions are held separately from formal Council meetings.

“There are specific rules around Council meetings, so we hold these sessions separately to make them much more informal,” Cr Pearse said.

“It gives community members an opportunity to ask questions, have those questions answered and have a conversation with Council about what’s possible.”

Residents can raise questions relating to any Council matter, with questions able to be submitted in advance if they require a detailed response.

Submitting questions beforehand gives Council an opportunity to have sufficient information available to respond on the night, but questions do not need to be registered in advance.

Questions can be emailed to [email protected], mailed to the General Manager at Moree Plains Shire Council, PO Box 420, Moree NSW 2400, or delivered in person to Level 2 of the Max Centre at 30 Heber Street, Moree.

Further information is available from Moree Plains Shire Council on (02) 6757 3222 or [email protected].
