School holidays are almost here, with activities planned across Moree and surrounding communities from Monday, September 28.
There are full-day programs for working parents, shorter activities, village events and several options across the two-week break.
Here is a day-by-day guide to help families plan the holidays.
Monday, September 28
PCYC Moree
PCYC Moree’s school holiday program begins with a full day of activities for children aged five to 12.
The program runs from 9am to 3pm at PCYC Moree, 360 Boston Street, with drop-off available from 8am and collection until 4pm.
The holiday program costs $35 per day, with families able to book three days and receive the fourth free. Active and Creative Kids vouchers are accepted.
Tuesday, September 29
PCYC Moree
The PCYC program continues from 9am to 3pm for children aged five to 12.
Pool Slide BBQ
Moree SHAE Academy and Miyay Birray Youth Service will hold a Pool Slide BBQ from 11am to 2pm at MAAC.
The SHAE Academy and Miyay Birray school holiday program is open to all school ages.
Wednesday, September 30
PCYC Moree
Another full day of PCYC activities runs from 9am to 3pm.
Arts and crafts
SHAE Academy will host an arts and crafts session from 11am to 2pm.
Thursday, October 1
Ashley
Children can take part in outdoor games and decorate their own library bags at Ashley Hall from 11am to 1pm.

PCYC Moree
PCYC’s 9am to 3pm program also continues in Moree, with activities including a disco dance party, basketball and air-dry clay.
Friday, October 2
Gurley
The travelling outdoor games and DIY library bag program moves to Gurley Hall from 11am to 1pm.

PCYC Moree
PCYC has another full-day program from 9am to 3pm for children aged five to 12.
Sunday, October 4
Moree Markets
Families looking for something to do on Sunday can head to the Moree Markets at Jellicoe Park.
The monthly markets include children’s activities alongside food, fresh produce, craft, plants and other stalls. Entry is free.
Monday, October 5
Monday is the public holiday and PCYC Moree will be closed.
Tuesday, October 6
Pallamallawa
Outdoor games and DIY library bag decorating will be held at Pallamallawa Hall from 11am to 1pm.
Registration is essential through Moree Community Library on 02 6757 3374.
Narrabri Pool Day
SHAE Academy and Miyay Birray will run a trip to Narrabri Pool from 9am to 3pm.
Registration is required through Miyay Birray on 02 6752 6038 or by messaging the organisation.
Children attending the pool day must be over 10 years old and able to swim.
PCYC Moree
Back in Moree, PCYC resumes its holiday program from 9am to 3pm, with activities including dodgeball, Free G Warrior, Nerf Wars, an Amazing Race and splash and water activities.
Wednesday, October 7
OzTag
SHAE Academy will host OzTag from 11am to 2pm.
PCYC Moree
PCYC runs from 9am to 3pm, with tag games, STEM challenges, trampoline activities and a disco dance party.
Thursday, October 8
Fishing competition
Miyay Birray will host a fishing competition from 10am to 3pm.

PCYC Moree
PCYC’s World Sports Day program runs from 9am to 3pm, with futsal, pickleball, dodgeball and kickball among the activities.
Friday, October 9
World Lung Day Amazing Race
Teams of six can tackle the Quit B Fit World Lung Day Amazing Race at Jacaranda Park from 11am to 2pm.
Activities include Amazing Race challenges, teamwork and healthy lifestyle activities, with a free barbecue also planned.
Places are limited, with teams of six required. Register online through the event’s Microsoft Forms registration page.
The event is being held alongside Moree Plains Shire Council’s Community Connect Day.
PCYC Moree
PCYC’s Friday program runs from 9am to 3pm, with mini Olympics, painting, multi-sport activities and gymnastics.
Monday, October 12
One more day at PCYC
NSW public school students have one more day before heading back to class, with Monday, October 12 a school development day and students returning for Term 4 on Tuesday.
PCYC has an additional program featuring trampoline activities, tag games, 3×3 basketball, an escape room or Amazing Race and Funky Hair and Sock Day.
It runs from 9am to 3pm for children aged five to 12 and costs $35.
Booking the PCYC program

Children need to bring a water bottle, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, enclosed shoes and suitable clothing for the day’s activities.
