JUKES and Sons Tyre Service in Moree proudly employs more than 20 staff members – and with the district currently reaping a wheat harvest of record proportions, more staff are needed.
Jukes, a family-owned business operating since 1963, has expanded rapidly in recent years, with plans for further expansion.
And with expansion comes employment opportunities, says Jukes principle, Graham Warner.
“Naturally, the harvest means we are very busy. That also means we need more staff to help with the demand, on-farm and in-house, but we’re also looking for full-time employees to join the team.” Graham said.
“They can be experienced tyre-fitters or new to the industry. I’m proud to say, it’s a joy to have more than 20 employees, all with different personalities, traits and backgrounds, but there’s room for more,” he smiled.
Along with the cotton-picking season, harvest time is a busy period for Jukes and Sons Tyre Service, and four fully-equipped service vehicles are working extended hours to cover on-farm demand.
“Our on-farm service helps make down-time periods as short as possible, and we have a wide range of agricultural tyres, including Michelin and Firestone tractor tyres” Graham said.
The specialist tyre company, located at 306 Frome Street near Dr Geoffrey Hunter Bridge, has been changing and repairing tyres for more than 60 years.
Jukes carries a wide range of 4×4 and SUV tyres, including big-brand names Bridgestone, Michelin, Yokohama, BKT and Harvest.
And the Jukes team will fit them expertly and efficiently.
No job is too big or too small for the team, either.
While changing or repairing tractor, header or cotton-picker tyres on-farm is stock-in-trade, Jukes can also repair or replace the smallest tyre, from ATV and quad tyres to ride-on lawnmower tyres.
Dedicated driveway staff will change tyres efficiently as well as perform wheel alignments, balancing services and major vulcanising repairs.
Customers can go one step further and take advantage of solid-fill services each Wednesday – discovering the wheel-barrow has a flat tyre when there’s work to be done Sunday morning will never be a problem again.
“Customers can drop in their small tyres for a solid refill on Wednesdays and collect them the next day,” Graham said.
Jukes and Sons Tyre Service is steeped in history, and is a name synonymous with the Moree district.
In 1963, Jimmy Jukes saw the need to establish a tyre service in Moree.
His mission statement was simple, yet important – Jimmy ensured excellent sales and service from day one and always kept in stock the largest range of tyres in the shire.
Graham Warner is following Jimmy’s ideals more than 60 years later.
“I’m driven to provide a service unique to our customers and ensure that service is of the highest standard in everything we do,” Graham said.
Graham and his team are proud to adopt Jimmy’s business model, by serving the Moree shire with excellent sales and service and continuously having a large range of tyres in stock.
Meanwhile, Graham’s plans for expansion and expected busy periods like the current harvest and next year’s cotton-picking season means more staff members are needed to meet the demand.
“I encourage anyone interested, whether they be experienced tyre-fitters or new to the industry, to drop in and have a chat about a career at Jukes & Sons Tyre Service,” Graham said.
