“We apologise for the delay in notifying the community regarding this change,” said NSW Pathology Moree lab manager, Nigeline Sio.
Meanwhile, NSW Health Pathology has secured funding for 35 new traineeships as part of ongoing efforts to diversify the workforce.
Trainees will be employed across 10 metropolitan sites and 10 regional sites, in roles within Central Specimen Reception, administration, collections and in laboratories.
Deputy director of people and culture, Jessica Lee, is excited about the possibilities for new recruits.
“We’re passionate about providing opportunities to those that face challenges and are from marginalised communities,” Ms Lee said.
“As such, we are targeting these roles to individuals that live with disability and those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.”
The trainees will be supported through NSW Health Pathology’s ongoing partnership with Indigenous employment agency, Real Futures Pty Ltd.
