NSW Police have commenced an investigation into alleged dangerous driving after a truck driver was pulled from flood water at Wee Waa on Sunday.
At about 5pm Sunday, officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified of a prime-mover trapped in floodwaters approximately two metres deep, on Vera Leap Road, Wee Waa.
With the assistance of the State Emergency Service, the driver, a 71-year-old man, was rescued via boat and return to dry land.
Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
Chief Inspector Robert Dunn is urging drivers not to drive through flood waters and to use their common sense.
“I am urging motorists not to attempt driving through flood waters during this dangerous time on our state’s roads,” Insp Dunn said.
“These waters can move fast and quickly overwhelm vehicles; they can also contain all matter of dangerous debris.
“Motorist who do decide to drive through these waters are putting themselves and emergency services at risk and will face consequences for their actions,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology reports there is moderate flooding occurring at Wee Waa and also possible at Bugilbone.
Minor flooding is possible at Gunnedah, Boggabri, Narrabri and Goangra.
Along the Namoi River at Gunnedah, inflows from the Mooki River combined with inflows from the Peel River may cause minor flooding Monday evening.
Further downstream along the Namoi River, Boggabri peaked at the minor flood level Sunday morning.
Renewed rises are occurring at Narrabri where minor flooding is possible Monday evening.
Moderate flooding is occurring at Wee Waa. Minor flooding is expected at Bugilbone from Monday afternoon and minor flooding is possible at Goangra later this week.
In the next few days, multiple flood peaks are expected to move along the Namoi River, with prolonged flooding possible at some locations.
