MOREE Arts Community Centre will be proudly represented in a group exhibition at Ceramic Break Sculpture Park, near Warialda.

Aunty Paula Duncan, Sandra O’Loughlin, Mojgan Habibi and Claus Bredow will bring their own unique voice and creative spirit to the show on Sunday, April 27.

The exhibition will also feature Warwick Artists Collective, Cattledog Printmakers, Artists of Glen, as well as Jo-Ann Barr, Carolyn McCosker and Kate Tighe.

Moree Arts Community Centre’s Mojgan Habibi said works exhibited by the Moree collective ranges from deeply cultural ceramics to sculptural pieces reflecting a connection to land, heritage and community.

“These artists are not only deeply passionate about their own practice, but they also contribute to the vibrant and welcoming creative culture at MACCI,” Ms Habibi said.

“The Moree centre provides a supportive space for local people to explore their creativity, share knowledge, and build strong community connections through the arts.

“Whether through clay, painting, or storytelling, the work created at MACCI represents the spirit of Moree,” she said.

Prior to the Ceramic Break event, the Moree artists will exhibit alongside other talented MACCI members at the Moree Art Show on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, at the Moree Show.

“The Ceramic Break Sculpture Park exhibition promises to be a joyful afternoon of art, culture, and conversation,” Ms Habibi said.

MACC, a not-for-profit organisation, was established in November, 2023 by Ms Habibi, Claus Bredow, and Jenni and Peter Birch.

The organisation’s prime goal is to advance art and culture in the Moree district as well as promote awareness and appreciation of community arts across the shire.

The MACC workshop, at 397 Gosport Street, includes Morning Clay and Coffee sessions (three per month), Afternoon Clay and Sips sessions (three per month), First Nations Workshops (two per month) and Art Club members’ days.

Ceramic Break Sculpture Park, opened 22 years ago by bronze sculptor, Kerry Cannon, is located about 10km south of Warialda Rail on Fossickers’ Way.

The park features three galleries, with the largest gallery housing a mezzanine with art library.

The galleries exhibit paintings and sculptures by owner Kerry Cannon and many local artists.

The park also offers a sculpture walk and  bush walk, leading to Ceramic Break, an uninspiring rock mound where a participatory artwork is in progress.
