MOREE on a Plate is one week away, and the hardworking committee is working even harder to deliver the iconic food and wine festival to an estimated 4000 locals and visitors.
The call-out is now on for volunteers to lend an hour or so of their time to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The May 10 signature event will showcase producers and creatives from across the region, with renowned food writer Roberta Muir hosting live cooking demonstrations using locally grown fare.
Event co-ordinator, Georgie Poole, said the committee looks forward to welcoming visitors to the region next weekend, and showcasing the best of the community.
“An event such as this leans heavily on our locals, and we know it’s a busy time. However, if anyone could spare an hour or so over the weekend to volunteer it would be very much appreciated,” Georgina said.
Time slots on the day to suit are available and help is needed in key areas, including gate-keeping and raffle ticket sales.
A helping hand at Kids’ Korner, the BBQ Challenge and cooking demo, as well as the clean-up afterwards, is also required.
“Many hands make light work, and we’re very grateful for any help we can get on the day, even if it’s only for one hour,” Georgina said.
