THE Crossing Theatre in Narrabri will remain closed for approximately five weeks in order to rectify further issues identified during scheduled fire safety upgrades last week.

It is anticipated the venue will re-open on Monday, June 23.

However, this date is subject to change as Narrabri Shire Council works with contractors to get the upgrades completed, Council general manager Eloise Chaplain said.

“Safety is our number one priority,” she said.

“During recent fire safety upgrades at The Crossing Theatre, further issues were identified which means additional works are required to be completed to ensure our fire safety systems are up to standard.

“We will keep our community and users of The Crossing Theatre updated regarding this matter, including via The Crossing Theatre website and social media pages, as well as Council’s website and Facebook page.”

The Crossing Theatre is Narrabri Shire’s premier entertainment venue.

The multi-purpose venue has two cinemas, a café and four event spaces that are all fully licensed.
